Uravan Minerals Inc. (“Uravan”) is a mineral exploration company specializing in uranium, base metal (nickel, copper) and precious metal (platinum, palladium) exploration. Uravan’s principal assets are its Boomerang uranium project, it’s recently acquired Garry Lake uranium property and it’s Rottenstone Nickel-Copper-PGM project.
Due to the continual increase in the uranium prices, going from $7.10 per pound U3O8 in 2000 to $125.00 recently, the Corporation has focused on planning and carrying out further exploration for potential high-grade unconformity-type uranium deposits on its Boomerang uranium project (SW Thelon Basin properties) and the Garry Lake uranium property (NE Thelon Basin property) and acquiring other potential uranium properties or opportunities.
Realizing the world’s technological advancements in electronics, aerospace and the demand for cheaper and cleaner power, the metals of the future have been defined. These metals are unique in their physical and chemical properties, such as:
- Strong catalysts found only in Nickel (Ni) and the Platinum Group Elements (PGE) for the advancement of autocatalyst, computer hard drives and fuel cell technology;
- Metals with fissionable properties only found in natural uranium (U3O8) for the production of nuclear power.
Finding these unique metals require technical expertise, a creative exploration approach and a seasoned group of exploration specialists.
